Counsellor

Are you supportive and non-judgemental, proactive, motivated and open to change? Do you demonstrate an understanding of the importance and scope of confidentiality, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills? At Relationships Scotland Dumfries & Galloway we are looking to expand our team of qualified counsellors who provide counselling for couples, individuals and unpaid carers.

The counsellor must be a registered member of COSCA or the BACP and hold a recognised Diploma in Relationship Counselling, or a recognised Diploma in Counselling with an additional qualification in Relationship Counselling.

The position will be part time and permanent and the role will deliver counselling from various locations throughout Dumfries and Galloway. Hours of work will be flexible. The session rate will be dependent on qualifications held.

Children and Young People Counsellor / Play Therapist

Relationships Scotland Dumfries and Galloway is looking for a qualified Children and Young People Counsellor / Play Therapist to join our therapeutic team to work with young unpaid Carers and other young people wishing to access our service.

You must be a registered member of COSCA or the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold a recognised Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People, or a recognised Diploma in Counselling, with an additional (Level 9 or equivalent) qualification in Counselling Children and Young People.

The position will be part time and permanent and the session rate will be dependent on qualifications held. Hours of work will be flexible.

Stranraer Child Contact Centre Assistant

Stranraer Child Contact Centre provides support to parents and children who are going through separation or divorce by providing a safe, friendly, neutral child-focused environment for children to have contact with the parent and/or extended family member they no longer live with.

We are currently looking to fill the following vacancy in the Stranraer area:

Saturday Child Contact Centre Assistant: To assist the Organiser with service delivery which will include carrying out Supervised contacts and assisting with Supported and Handover contacts.  Will work a minimum of two Saturday’s a month (6.5 hours). The successful applicant should be willing to be trained up to cover for the Organiser should they be on holiday or ill. The Stranraer Contact Centre is open every second Saturday 9:30am – 4:30pm. Pay is £12 per hour and we would like the successful applicant to be available to start working with us on the 15th June and fortnightly thereafter.

Applicants should have a good understanding of the difficulties families face when separating and divorcing.  Training will be provided. In the near future child contact centres will go through a regulation process which will require all staff to work towards an accredited child contact qualification. The successful applicant for the above position should be willing to work towards this accredited qualification.

Successful applicants will be required to undergo PVG clearance for which our organisation will meet the cost.
